Lower ground, and less wind than the ridge
Kuilsriver sits lower and more sheltered than Durbanville up on the Tygerberg ridge, and in practice that is the one thing that genuinely changes about a cook down here: the fire holds its heat more predictably through a summer afternoon, so the timings we quote need less padding.
